AppleInsider reports that similar functionality on the iPhone that determines a user’s location by triangulating nearby WiFi signals. Could be interesting to use in desktop applications for finding local content, tracking activity of certain regions, and finding other people nearby using the same application. I think it would be especially useful for online gaming where latency is a potential issue and the closer the network the better.

Anyone have any ideas they think could benefit from a location aware desktop applicaiton?
